Technical
Yes, Vela is made using FSC®-certified paper fiber, sourced from responsibly managed forests.
No. Our standard Vela products are free from coatings, ensuring they remain fully recyclable.
Absolutely. Vela’s material is surprisingly strong and resilient, designed to protect garments through every stage — from factory to distribution center to customer.
When stored properly, Vela has an expected shelf life of a year or more.
We offer several Vela styles, made with different materials to suit varying transparency needs. When scanning through the bag is required, we recommend Vela Plus, which has the highest clarity and works with most scanners on the market. We also offer Vela Hybrid, which lets you mix and match materials on different sides of the bag—so you can combine Vela Plus on one side for scanning and a different finish on the other to match your brand’s look and feel. In some cases, Vela Classic bags can also be scanned. Our support team is happy to help you find the best setup for your scanning needs.
Vela bags are designed to be resealed up to five times while maintaining reliable adhesive strength. Laboratory tests have shown that the adhesive continues to meet quality standards even after five reseals, with only a slight reduction in peel strength. It’s important to note that these tests were conducted under controlled conditions, where the seal was opened and closed carefully to prevent damage. In real-world packing environments, where handling may be faster or less precise, performance could vary slightly depending on usage.
Vela bags are made from very thin, high-quality paper, allowing them to be comparable in space and volume to traditional plastic polybags. We collaborate with brands to reproduce the optimal bag sizes needed to fit their outer boxes and meet logistics optimization goals.
Great question! Vela bags are designed to replicate the function of lightweight polybags used for product protection within shipments, but they do not replace an outer mailer bag. For direct-to-consumer shipping, we recommend pairing Vela with your preferred outer packaging solution.
