Vela™ Renews Its 1% for the Planet Certification

Vela™ has officially renewed its annual 1% for the Planet certification, reaffirming our commitment to supporting environmental organisations around the world. Each year, we donate at least 1% of revenue to vetted, high-impact partners working to protect ecosystems, restore natural resources and advance sustainable solutions.

This milestone reflects a long-term commitment: Vela™ has been a proud member of 1% for the Planet for several years, integrating environmental responsibility directly into the way we do business. Supporting ocean protection, plastic interception projects and nature-positive initiatives is not an add-on to our packaging mission—it is part of our foundation. With every product we design and every partnership we build, we strive to protect both garments and the environment they move through.

Investing in Planet-Positive Work

As part of 1% for the Planet, Vela™ directs its giving toward initiatives that protect ecosystems and restore natural environments, particularly projects focused on waterways, oceans, and plastic interception.

One example is our support for Sungai Watch, a non-profit organisation working to stop plastic from entering the ocean by installing river-barrier systems, cleaning waterways, and analysing waste flows across Indonesia. This partnership reflects our ongoing belief that protecting the ocean requires action before waste reaches it.
